Actor Brian Baumgartner, Kevin from The Office, offers congratulations to University of Guelph grads in a special video posted on the U of G Twitter account.

University of Guelph’s class of 2020 got some sage graduation advice Thursday: don’t end up working at Dunder Mifflin’.

The U of G posted a fun congratulations video to its graduates that featured characters from the popular television show The Office, a mockumentary about the branch of a fictional paper company named Dunder Mifflin in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

The show last aired in 2013 but has retained a cult following over the years.

The two-minute video tweeted on the U of G account featured actors Brian Baumgartner (who played Kevin Malone), Leslie David Baker (who played Stanley Hudson) and Kate Flannery (who played Meredith Palmer) offering words of congratulations and wisdom to the grads.

“Keep working hard, because you don't want to end up at Dunder Mifflin’,” deadpanned Baumgartner.

“You’ve got work to do and plenty of it. Did I stutter?” said David Baker, using one of his character’s trademark lines from the show.

The actors congratulated the class, lamenting the lack of an in-person grad ceremony.

“Most things don’t turn out the way you think they might turn out,” said David Baker, to which Baumbartner added “but you did it.”

Flannery congratulated the grads on “all your hard work” during an “unprecedented time.”

The U of G confirmed the videos were purchased through Cameo, an online site where entertainers will deliver a personalized video message for a set fee.

According to the site, Baumgartner and Flannery charge (US)$175 each and David Baker (US)$300.
