Hope House Chili Cook-Off a big success

From vegetarian to pepperoni and bacon, lots of different chili recipes on the table at fundraising event

The Hope House Chili Cook-Off took place Saturday at Hope House on Cork Street, with a strong turnout of people looking to taste some different family recipes.

Eight different chilis, from vegetarian to hot and spicy to one that had pepperoni and bacon in it were up for the tasting.

A $5 donation got you three samples, plus corn bread, a bun and a water. After tasting, people would then vote on their favourite. The winner will be the recipe used to feed participants and volunteers in the Coldest Night of the Year fundraising walk on Feb. 25. That event hopes to have 80 teams walk to raise $100,000.
