Lakeside Hope House wants to fill your tummy and get your opinion on Saturday, Jan. 14, at its chili cook off.
Eight people have volunteered to bring their own secret chili recipes to the event for tasting and judging.
People will pay $5 to taste the creations and vote on the one they think is best, said Kristen Tilley, events and administration coordinator for Lakeside Hope House on Cork Street.
It's the first year for the chili cook-off.
"We're hoping to get around 60 people but the more the merrier," said Tilley.
The winning chilli will be served to walkers taking part in the annual Coldest Night of the Year fundraising walk on Feb. 25.
The Coldest Night of the Year, part of a national fundraiser to raise money for the hungry, homeless and hurting in over 100 communities, hopes to bring out 80 teams locally and raise $100,000 this year. It sees teams raise funds and then come out to walk either a 2 km, 5 km or 10 km walk.
The event takes place in the Lakeside Hope House gymnasium. Signs will be posted to guide the way.
