"I Will Stop HIV Stigma" theme of Sunday's AIDS Walk (12 Photos)

People unite at Riverside Park for a great cause

Nearly 100 people were out at Riverside Park Sunday to join the Guelph 2016 AIDS Walk to raise money for ARCH – HIV/AIDS Resources and Community Health.

“I will stop HIV stigma” – was the theme of Sunday’s walk, which drew support from a variety of people and organizations including Guelph Mayor Cam Guthrie, Guelph Liberal MP Lloyd Longfield and Alisha Cino and Laura Williams from the Ontario Aboriginal HIV/AIDS Strategy.

“The turnout was fabulous but we would love to see more faces next year,” said ARCH clinic coordinator Deanna Chatworthy. “We are underfunded and need more donations.”

ARCH cares for more than 600 people with HIV and AIDS in Guelph and Wellington County as well as Dufferin, Grey and Bruce Counties.

To donate or to get more information about ARCH check out their website or phone 519 753-2255.
