Search warrant of residence executed in Fergus

TOWN OF FERGUS - On April 22, 2016 at approximately 9:14 a.m., uniform members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Street Crime Members from Wellington County, South Bruce OPP and Huron OPP along with the Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a Warrant to Search the residence and detached garage at a home located on St. Patrick Street East in Fergus, Township of Centre Wellington.

Police seized a large quantity of documents, identity documents, and credit cards that did not belong to the residents of that home as well as a quantity of methamphetamine.

34-year-old Richard Cutting of Fergus and 35-year-old Tracy Dolmage of Fergus have been charged with:

    •    Five counts of Theft from Mail contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)
    •    Five counts of Mischief under $5,000 (CC)
    •    Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The OPP along with municipal partners and with assistance from Canada Post, is continuing this investigation due to the sheer volume of stolen mail recovered and more charges could be added.

Both were held for a Bail Hearing.
