Businessman and television personality Kevin O'Leary has confirmed he is joining the race for the next federal Conservative leader.
"It's official, I'm in. The Conservative Party of Canada needs a candidate who can beat Justin Trudeau and bring back jobs to this country!" O'Leary wrote on his Facebook page.
In a video on Facebook, the former dragon and current shark tank host explained why he was jumping in to the race.
"I listened to you," he said. "Thank you. The 40,000 of you that went to the website and encouraged me to do it. That's why I'm doing it."
"It's time. I'm jumping into the race right now. I'm really excited," he said moments before making the official announcement on CTV.
