Guelph Public Library is seeking to capture images from the past of Guelph and the library through an old photo contest.

You may submit as many original photographs as you wish – from any year – as long as they capture “Guelph’s Hidden Past,” the library said in a news release.

So climb into your attics, search your photo albums, computers, digital devices and maybe even venture into great great granny’s tickle trunk, the library said.

Entries must be original photographs (which will be returned) and may be submitted to the Main Library (on Norfolk Street) only.

The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 30.

A panel of judges, comprised of historians Bonnie Durtnall, Ed Butts and Cameron Shelley, will choose the photograph that best captures Guelph’s Hidden Past.

A prize valued at approximately $50 will be awarded to the winner.

You can pick up your Guelph’s Hidden Past entry form at any Guelph Public Library location or online at www.guelphpl.ca/news.
