Lieutenant Governor of Ontario in Guelph next two days

Series of roundtables with University of Guelph, civic and community leaders planned

Ontario Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Dowdeswell will be in Guelph Tuesday and Wednesday for a series of events and meetings.

The visit is part of her efforts to visit various communities in Ontario.

Dowdeswell will visit the University of Guelph on Tuesday, having a private lunch with the president and administrators of the U of G and then taking part in a closed-door roundtable discussion at the Food Institute.

She will then take part in a students and faculty roundtable focusing on work in the voluntary sector at the Aboriginal Resource Centre at the Federal Building.

At 4 p.m. Tuesday she will deliver a lecture to students in the U of G's Environmental Politics and Governance, a third-year course. A question and answer session follows.

A private reception is planned for the evening.

On Wednesday the Lieutenant Governor will visit City Hall to meet with the Mayor and join local leaders in environmental, business and voluntary sectors during a roundtable focusing on sustainability in energy, food, waste management, and water.

A reception is planned for 11 a.m. at the Guelph Civic Museum where she will address local representatives, municipal staff, leaders of civil society, and members of the arts and athletic sectors during a reception hosted by the Mayor.
