TORONTO – Congratulations to Hung Le of Guelph for winning the $50,000 top prize with INSTANT QUEST FOR GOLD CROSSWORD (Game #3217).
“I’ve been playing INSTANT scratch games for over a decade,” shared Hung while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto where he picked up his winnings. “I bought a few tickets and before I left the store I decided to play one game.”
Hung chose the INSTANT QUEST FOR GOLD CROSSWORD ticket. “After scratching five words, I took the ticket straight to the ticket checker. I figured five words would probably get me about $100. Instead, I saw, ‘Big Winner - $50,000!’”
Next, Hung asked the retailer to validate his ticket. “OLG called the store after the retailer scanned my ticket and confirmed my win.”
Plans are underway for Hung’s big win. “I have worked hard as a welder my entire life. This win will help my wife and I in our retirement years. First though, we plan to celebrate. I can’t think of a better way to do that than to take my family back to Vietnam to visit relatives."
"My son has never met his grandmother so this visit will be very special for all of us. As my mother gets older, it’s more important than ever that everyone in my family be together. Winning the lottery makes me very happy. It takes away the worry of finances. We can go on this special trip to Vietnam and not worry about costs. I am very grateful,” concluded Hung.
INSTANT QUEST FOR GOLD CROSSWORD is available for $3 a play and the top prize is $50,000. Odds of winning a prize are 1 in 3.87. Proceeds from the game support Ontario’s amateur athletes through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
The winning ticket was purchased at Esso on Silvercreek Parkway in Guelph.
