John Carreiro and Donna Foreman-Braun of Guelph are celebrating after winning $85,504.70 in the May 9, 2018 LOTTO 6/49 draw.
“We have been playing the lottery together for 11 years,” shared Donna, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up their winnings. “We like to play Lotto 6/49, Lotto Max, Lottario and Instant tickets.”
John brought their tickets to the store, as he usually does on Thursdays. He was shocked when the retailer told him that he had a winning ticket. “John called me right away from the store,” said Donna. “I was in disbelief and I didn't believe him until he started to cry – they were tears of joy!”
John and Donna, who have three children between them, plan on using some of their winnings for home renovations and to take a trip.
“We will also use our windfall to celebrate the life of my daughter, who passed away three years ago. We will dedicate a memorial to her in her favourite park,” concluded Donna.
