Love on the rocks? man gets girlfriend's car impounded for 45 days

Police say they also found two open cans of beer in the vehicle he wasn't supposed to be driving

A Guelph man was arrested and his girlfriend’s car was impounded for 45 days after he was caught Thursday driving while unlicensed, Guelph police report.

An officer observed a vehicle driving in the area of Eramosa Road and Delhi Street approximately 9:30 p.m. Thursday and determined the licence plates had expired last May.

A traffic stop was conducted and the driver found to be bound by three different driving prohibitions. A search of the vehicle subsequent to arrest revealed two open cans of beer.

A 39-year-old Guelph man is charged with two criminal counts of driving while prohibited and several provincial offences.

The motor vehicle, which was registered to the male’s girlfriend, was impounded for 45 days.
