Man and woman charged with racing

PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP – On Nov. 21, 2016 at approximately 2:46 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Brock Road near Gilmour Road in Puslinch Township.

The officer observed a 2016 Mini Cooper travelling northbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 104 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

Her driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.

20-year-old Xiaoyu Zhang of Guelph has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. She is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Dec. 21, 2016 to answer to the charge.

CITY OF GUELPH – On Nov. 21, 2016 at approximately 10:11 a.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road in the City of Guelph.

The officer observed a 2007 Volvo travelling northbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 139 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.

28-year-old Scott Sinasac of London has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Dec. 21, 2016 to answer to the charge.
