Man charged with uttering threats to police

TOWN OF MINTO – On Aug. 26, 2016, at approximately 3:22 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Officers along the Wellington County OPP Crime Unit and the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) responded to a call concerning a person barricaded in an apartment on Allan Street East, in the town of Clifford.  

A man had made threats to cause harm to police officers and he was also on a probation order. 

32-year-old Cory Mccarthy of Clifford has been charged with Utter Threats and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code.

He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Sept. 30, 2016.
