A man is in critical condition following a collision involving three vehicles just north of Guelph early Monday morning.
The crash happened around 7:45 a.m. on Highway 6 just south of Ennotville.
A Ford Focus ended up on its roof and the driver had to be extracated from the vehicle by Centre Wellington Fire and Rescue. He was taken to Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus and then transferred to a hospital in Hamilton in critical condition, said Wellington County OPP spokesperson Const. Marylou Schwindt.
She said the Focus was northbound on Highway 6 when it collided with a southbound Volvo.
The Volvo ended up in the ditch and a third vehicle, a SUV, came to rest in a farmer's field.
The driver of the Volvo and the driver of the SUV were taken to hospital with minor injuries, Schwindt said.
Highway 6 between 6th Line and Eighth Line (County Road 22) is expected to remain closed until at least mid-afternoon for further investigation.
