A man was seriously injured Wednesday night after coming in contact with nitric acid at his workplace.
Wellington County OPP Const. Bob Bortolloto said that at at approximately 10:40 p.m. a man called emergency services after coming in contact with nitric acid vapour while doing repairs to a chemical storage tanker at Trimac Transportation Services on County Road 124 just west of Guelph.
Officers responded along with Guelph-Wellington Emergency Services and the Guelph Fire Department.
The man was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
His name will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
"We're done with our investigation now. It's been turned over to the Ministry of Labour and they're investigating," Bortolloto said.
