On Saturday, April 9, Mask Off Guelph hosted its mental health fundraiser event, where proceeds were raised and donated to The Grove Hubs, a Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario initiative, providing youth in Guelph and Wellington County with mental health and wellness support.

The event was a massive success, seeing over 320 attendees to support the cause, and over $50,000 in donations raised for The Grove Hubs. Funds from the event will be used to support the music room and music program at the new Grove site at CMHA WW’s Centre for Children’s Mental Health and Developmental Services, scheduled to open in early 2023.

The Grove Hubs were a fitting partner for the event, as a youth mental health crisis is still on the rise. The Grove has seen demand for youth mental health services increase by 40 per cent in 2021. Of the 146,000 youth between the ages of 12 and 26 living in Guelph and Wellington County, it is estimated that over half are in need of mental health and wellness services now.
