Mayor Cam Guthrie is holding a town hall meeting on transit later this month.

The mayor announced on his Twitter account that the open meeting will be held at City Hall on March 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

There was no formal announcement form the city and no mention on the city's home page other than the place that shows Guthrie's twitter feed.

"I want to make Transit the best it can be for our community! We’re doing well, but we should always strive to do more!" the mayor wrote.

He will be joined by local transit advocate Steve Petric.

The mayor called the event "an informal dialogue" on changes that could make the service better.

Guelph Transit is currently undergoing an extensive survey review, an update of which is due in April.

"I will also share with you what I believe needs to occur throughout the service review process," Guthrie said.

The mayor listed some "questions to consider," including:

What do you like about Transit now?

What worked in the past but isn’t working now?

Is increased frequency needed?

Is more coverage of the entire city needed?

What customer service enhancements would you like to see?

Is there a route that needs to be addressed?
