A shoplifting investigation from Oct. 3, 2016 at a Clair Road grocery store resulted in two suspects being identified and sought by police.

On Nov. 8, 2016 members of the Guelph Police High Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) located the wanted parties on Carden Street and they were arrested. A search then discovered identity documents that had been reported from theft from car incidents in October.

A subsequent search warrant at a south end home was then executed and more identity documents and property believed to be stolen was seized.

Update:

Continued investigation related to the seized property has led to further charges being added to both.

Tyler Riediger, 22 years old of Guelph, has been charged with theft under $5,000, twelve counts of possession of stolen property, eight counts of possession of identity documents, unauthorized use of credit cards and six counts of breach of probation. He will appear in court on Nov. 18, 2016.

Sarah Taylor, 24 years old of Guelph, has been charged with theft under $5,000, twelve counts of possession of stolen property, eight counts of possession of identity documents and unauthorized use of credit cards. She will appear in court on Nov. 25, 2016.
