More than 200 Upper Grand students to collaborate for a day of music

ORANGEVILLE – Band students from six Upper Grand District School Board schools will come together this week for the 2nd annual UGDSB Band Meet-Up.

On April 26, 224 students in Grades 9 to 12, along with their band directors, will be collaborating at Westside Secondary School for a day of music.

Participating schools and band directors include:

  • Orangeville District High School (Allain Brisson)
  • Centre Wellington District High School (Brett Girvin)
  • Wellington Heights Secondary School (Kim Stewart)
  • Norwell District Secondary School (Angela Syer-Murray)
  • Erin District High School (Cara Cameron)
  • Westside Secondary School (Christa Davidson)

The morning will include a workshop for each section and a large group rehearsal. In the afternoon, each school will perform, ending with a performance of all 224 students playing at the same time.

The afternoon concert is from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Westside SS, 300 Alder St. in Orangeville.
