Name released in fatal Palmerston fire

TOWN OF MINTO – On Dec. 12, 2016 at approximately 2:44 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the Town of Minto Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a residence located on Victoria Street in Palmerston, Town of Minto.

The residence sustained significant damage in the fire. While crews battled the blaze and searched the residence, the body of a deceased person was located who has now been identified as 46-year-old David Hershey of Palmerston. 

The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Services Unit (FISU) and along with investigators from the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall continue to investigate this incident.

The fire is not deemed to be suspicious.
