Melissa Kwiatkowski has been named the new CEO of Guelph Community Health Centre.

Melissa Kwiatkowski has been named the new CEO of the Guelph Community Health Centre, replacing Raechelle Devereaux.

Kwiatkowski has been interim CEO since March 2022 when Devereaux took a leave of absence to run for the Liberals in the provincial election. She since resigned her position, which she held for five years.

Kwiatkowski was previously the GCHC's director of primary care.

“Melissa’s leadership over the last several months has been utterly seamless, and the board is delighted to welcome her to the role officially,” says Dorothy Bakker, GCHC board chair in a news release. “We are confident that Melissa’s calm presence, and her strong leadership skills will continue to be assets to our team, and our broader community.”

“Prior to Raechelle’s political leave, she worked closely with Guelph CHC’s Board and leadership team toward transformative change within our organization. Part of that work was developing a succession plan that included continuity of capable leadership, with Melissa as CEO,” says Bakker. “The Board is grateful for Raechelle’s dedication, and we wish her well.”

Prior to joining Guelph CHC, Kwiatkowski worked at Guelph General Hospital and the Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network (LHIN). She holds masters degrees in health science and public health.
