There now appear to be at least five outlets looking to set up retail cannabis outlets in Guelph.

Two more recently sprung up in Downtown Guelph, both on Wyndham Street.

Bud's Cannabis has a "coming soon" sign in the papered-up window of 45 Wyndham St. N., just south of Old Quebec Street Mall. Their web site says they own another cannabis retail store in Toronto.

Further up the street, Q-Bud has a public Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario notice in the window of its location at 128 Wyndham St. N., which is the former Sidonio's Men's Wear downtown location. Deadline for input into that application is April 15.

The two downtown possibilities join three other potential locations that have become public in recent months:

  • Spiritleaf Guelph is proposed for the Edinburgh Market Place at 492 Edinburgh Rd. S., among 24 Retail Store Authorizations being pursued in Ontario by Calgary-based Inner Spirit Holdings. This is the plaza that houses the Metro grocery store. The public input period for this location recently closed.
  • In February, Fire & Flower Inc. announced it was setting up shop in the old Dulux Paints store on Stone Road West.
  • In March, the property owner at 739 Woolwich St. applied for a variance at the city's Committee of Adjustment that would clear the way for a cannabis retailer.

That location is currently home to a flower shop.
