Public Health Ontario reported 788 new COVID cases today.
The latest updates noted 453 recoveries and two new deaths. One other death that occurred more than a month ago was added to the cumulative total number of deaths.
The Nov. 29 updates provided by the province's public health agency and the ministry of health also reported the following data:
- 6,816 active cases, up from 6,418 reported yesterday.
- 145 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, but this number is incomplete as more than 10 per cent of hospitals don't report bed census data on weekends.
- There are 131 COVID-positive patients in the ICU plus another 17 patients no longer testing positive for COVID-19.
- There are 79 COVID-positive patients on ventilators and another 10 patients on ventilators no longer testing positive for COVID.
- 11,254,056 Ontarians (about 75 per cent of the total population) have been fully vaccinated. 89 per cent of eligible Ontarians have at least one dose of vaccine.
- Today's new cases include 412 unvaccinated, 27 partially vaccinated, and 315 fully vaccinated people. 34 cases were reported with the vaccination status unknown.
- The province does not update the vaccination status of hospitalized COVID patients on Sunday or Monday.
- The seven-day average incidence rate by vaccination status is 12.5 cases per 100,000 unvaccinated people, 5.4 cases per 100,000 partially vaccinated people, and 2.9 cases per 100,000 fully vaccinated people.
- The province reported 26,016 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a 3.5 per cent positivity rate.
- Today's new cases include 38 newborns to four-year-olds, 159 kids ages five to 11, 65 youth between 12 and 19 years old, 217 people between 20 and 39 years old, 180 people between 40 and 59 years old, 111 people between 60 and 79 years old, and 18 people over 79 years old.
Public Health Ontario has confirmed 617,803 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 600,990 recoveries and 9,997 deaths.
Since the start of the pandemic, 31,288 people have been hospitalized with COVID and 6,179 of them were in intensive care units.
The cumulative average incidence rate in the province is 4,193 cases per 100,000 people in Ontario.
Ontario's average weekly incidence rate last week was 34 cases per 100,000 people, which is up by 13 per cent compared to the week of Nov. 13.
