The owners of the old Guelph Place property on Michener Road are asking council to adjust the properties zoning to make it easier to attract business.

City council heard a staff report Monday to address a request from Four Woods Ltd. to ease the zoning of the property to allow for a wider range of general uses. Council heard there is no plan for redevelopment at this time but that the owners have been having trouble attracting a new tenant to the property since Gueph Place closed suddenly in February 2014.

The property includes an 11,000 square-foot building that used to house the banquet hall.

Staff accepted the staff report, which did not require any action at this time.
