Park weapons incident turns out to be pellet gun

On February 14, 2016 the Guelph Police investigated a weapons complaint.

It is alleged that a male went to Hugh Guthrie Park at approximately 8:30 p.m. with a pellet gun.

The gun was unloaded but did contain a CO2 canister.

The male fired the empty gun at two males before leaving the area.

Police located the male and the gun shortly after and he was arrested.

A 17-year-old Guelph male has been charged with weapons dangerous, two counts of pointing a firearm and two counts of assault with a weapon.

He will appear in court on March 30, 2016.
