Polar Bear Plunge smashes goal

Event far exceeded its target of $20,000 thanks to generosity of more than 900 donors

The Guelph Polar Plunge was held on Saturday at the University of Guelph, raising $32,000 for the Special Olympics Ontario Spring Games that will be held in Guelph May 26-28.

The original fundraising goal was $20,000.

A total of 24 teams entered the event and a total of 155 people took the chilly plunge. There were almost 900 sponsors making donations to the various plungers.
