Police find vehicle in ditch, smell driver's breath

It was one of two incidents that led to impaired driving charges

CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP – On Feb. 5, 2017 at approximately 2:30 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 6 near the Fourth Line in Centre Wellington Township.

Officers arrived at the scene and while speaking with the female driver immediately detected the odour of alcohol on her breath. 

A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

23-year-old Jessica Dullard, of Nichol Township, has been charged with over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Mar. 6, 2017.

WOOLWICH TOWNSHIP – On Feb. 4, 2017 at approximately 4:07 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a 2001 Subaru that was travelling northbound on the Guelph-Woolwich Townline in Woolwich Township.

While speaking with the driver, officers detected the odour of alcohol on his breath. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail.  The driver was arrested and transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

20-year-old Harrison Peria of Kitchener has been charged with over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Mar. 3, 2017 to answer to the charge.
