Police seek witnesses to collision

(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) - Today at approximately 1:12 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Mapleton Fire/Rescue and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Wellington Road 7 and Wellington Road 12 in the hamlet of Parker. Initial reports indicated that a northbound sedan travelling on Wellington Road 7 collided with a transport truck that entered the intersection while travelling westbound on Wellington Road 12.

The three occupants of the motor vehicle which include a 52-year-old female driver, 29-year-old female and a 1-year-old male passenger, all of Palmerston, were transported to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries. The driver has subsequently been transferred to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition.

The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.  

Members of the Wellington County OPP and Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) continue to investigate.
