Police seize a couple of fast Dodges

GUELPH – On Jan. 7, 2017 at approximately 9:40 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling Highway 6 near College Avenue, Guelph and observed a 2015 Dodge speeding northbound through traffic at approximately 135 km/h in the posted 70 km/h zone.  

A traffic stop was performed and as a result, 20-year-old Kenneth Edwards, of Guelph, was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. 

He will appear in Guelph Court on Feb. 1, 2017.  His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.

GUELPH – On Jan. 6, 2017 at approximately 11 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road, Guelph.  

A man driving a 2003 Dodge was observed at a speed well above the posted speed limit and was locked on radar at approximately 135 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

A traffic stop was performed and 33-year-old Dillon McCully of Arran-Elderslie Township was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Court on Jan. 18, 2017.   

His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
