Police take 11 heavy trucks out of service

On May 13, 2016 the Guelph Police partnered with members of the Waterloo Regional Police and Halton Regional Police Commercial Motor Vehicle Units to conduct a commercial motor vehicle blitz. 

Officers conducted a total of 32 commercial vehicle inspections over the course of the day. 

27 of the inspections were conducted on vehicles over 4,500 kgs and resulted in 11 of them being taken out of service and the drivers issued 13 Highway Traffic Act tickets. 

The other 5 inspections were conducted on vehicles under 4,500 kgs with 4 of them being taken out of service and 23 Highway Traffic act tickets issued. 

HTA fines issued during the blitz exceeded $7,000.

Enforcement blitzes are regularly conducted by the Guelph Police to demonstrate our commitment to roads safety for all users.
