Police use drone to bust cornfield grow-op

Two males were observed running into the bush then into an adjoining cornfield. Police haven't tracked them down yet

TOWN OF MINTO – On Sept. 23, 2016 at approximately 2:28 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police received a call from a property owner advising that he had located two large duffel bags containing marijuana plants in his field near Wellington Road 4 in the Town of Minto.

Officers attended the property and while speaking with the complainant, two males were observed running into the bush then into an adjoining cornfield.

The Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit attended the scene and joined the search with the assistance of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV).

Police located four separate marijuana grow plots planted in the cornfield.  The suspects were not located however officers seized approximately 300 mature marijuana plants.
