Buon Gusto restaurant on Douglas Street is looking to get bigger.
The popular Italian eatery at 69 Wyndham St. N. is looking to add the adjacent space currently occupied Royal Gold Jewellery, which is relocating to another spot in the city.
The restaurant is currently 339 square metres in size and has a seating capacity of 128. If approved it would increase in size to 505 square metres with a seating capacity of 212.
The property owner, Skyline Inc., has applied to the city's Committee of Adjustment for a variance that would allow Buon Gusto to exceed the current limits on size and seating allowed at that property.
Their application will be heard on March 12 at Guelph City Hall.
Buon Guston opened in 2012.
