Quebec Street fire under investigation

Fire at 9 Quebec Street

On July 18, 2019 at 16:41:49, the Guelph Fire Department responded to a reported fire at the above noted location. Firefighters arrived at the scene and found smoke coming from a second storey apartment window.

The fire was quickly brought under control and subsequently extinguished. Units from Headquarters, Speedvale, Stone, Elizabeth and Imperial stations attended the scene. Extensive overhaul was performed by crews on scene

Female occupant of the adjacent apartment was treated for smoke inhalation by paramedics on scene. All other personnel were evacuated.

The cause of the fire along with an estimate of damage is still under investigation. Guelph Fire investigators were contacted and remain on scene at the time of this media release.
