CITY OF GUELPH – On June 19, 2016 at approximately 10:32 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Highway 6 south of Laird Road in the City of Guelph.
The officer observed a male driving a 2014 Mitsubishi at a speed well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 142 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
His driver’s licence and motor vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
19-year-old Steven Wadeea of Kitchener has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on July 20, 2016 to answer to the charge.
