RAINBOW CHORUS WATERLOO-WELLINGTON

For 25 years, the Rainbow Chorus Waterloo-Wellington (RCWW) has been singing songs of diversity and acceptance at concerts and community events throughout Waterloo-Wellington and beyond. Now it is time to celebrate!

On Saturday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the River Run Centre, the 56 voice chorus will perform favourite repertoire from past local, national and international performances.

The concert will feature wonderful music including Starlight, a piece commissioned by RCWW in 2010. Canadian composer Mark Sirett wrote the music and the text is by past chorus member Van Waffle who will be in attendance. Rise with Pride was written for and dedicated to RCWW by chorister Terrilyn Ouellette and originally performed at the GALA Festival in Montreal in 2004.

Some other songs include Ave Maria by Franz Biebl which was performed at the first ever Rainbow Chorus concert, and Say Something a popular song performed by RCWW at the Unison Choral Festival in Calgary in May 2018. For the finale, chorus alumni will join members on stage to sing Let There Be Love.

At this concert, the chorus is very pleased to introduce a new Music Director, Alison MacNeill. Alison is an accomplished and well respected Guelph musician who has accompanied the Rainbow Chorus for over 15 seasons. Given Alison’s talent, experience, and her history with the group, having her take on the role of Music Director is a perfect fit for the chorus.

A silent auction, a raffle and a reception will round out the evening at the River Run Centre.

The Rainbow Chorus would like to thank the many individuals, businesses and organizations in Waterloo-Wellington who have supported the chorus over the years!
Get your tickets for the Saturday, Jan. 26 performance through the River Run Centre.
