Guelph police are investigating reports of a male exposing himself at two south end schools last Friday evening.

Just before 6 p.m., police received a call from a witness reporting a male had been on the property of a school on Clairfields Drive approximately one hour earlier. The witness saw the male expose himself while standing behind a bush. The male was in an area near where children were playing.

The male left the area and the witness followed him to another school on Colonial Drive. He was allegedly observed to expose himself again near a group of children playing on a nearby soccer field.

The male was not observed to approach or attempt to speak to any of the children at either location.

Police attended the area but the male had left by the time the incident was reported and therefore a search for the suspect was unsuccessful. He was described as a white male, 65 to 70 years old with a heavy build. He was wearing a beige coat, black pants, a black hat and black and white running shoes and had a blue bicycle.

The incidents remain under investigation. Police want to remind those who may have any concerns about suspicious persons in the area of schools and parks, not to hesitate to call the police with your concerns so that together, the police and the members of the community can work together to ensure the safety of our children within the community.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Detective Constable Melanie Dewar at 519-824-1212, ext. 7522, email her at [email protected], leave an anonymous message for Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or leave an anonymous tip online at www.csgw.tips.
