(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) - On Saturday Jan. 12, 2019 at approximately 10:30 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Wellington Road 29 near Highway 7 where they investigated the male driver of a sedan that entered into the check point.
While speaking with the male, officers determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device Test (ASD) was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
26-year-old Jesse Flint of Guelph has been charged with:
- Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration - 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Feb. 12, 2019 to answer to the charge.
If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, call police at 911 to report it.
