One resident has the chance to win a year’s worth of groceries, all by participating in a virtual duck race.

The Got Duck fundraiser is returning to Guelph and tickets are now on sale. Happening again online, a release from the Rotary Club of Guelph Wellington said the digital race will help raise money for Food4Kids, a local charity working to ensure all kids have access to healthy food.

“We never thought this year’s event would be digital once again,” said organizer Martin Van Dam of the Rotary Club of Guelph Wellington, in a release, “But that won’t stop the ducks from racing!”

Tickets are available for $10 each, or residents can buy six tickets for $50 or 14 for $100.

This year, the grand prize is valued at $6,000 with one winner receiving $500 a month for groceries for a year. Before the race, three more winners will have the chance to receive gift cards from local restaurants, valued at $250 each.

Happening for over 30 years on Canada Day weekend, the Got Duck fundraiser has raised over a million dollars for local charities.

“The Rotary Club is grateful to all of our amazing sponsors and donors for their support, and we look forward to seeing you at the race."
