Guelph’s popular duck race fundraiser has returned in a new format. Although the ducks couldn’t bob towards a finish line before an eager Canada Day crowd this year, they’ll ‘race’ online.

Got Duck tickets can be purchased at gotduck.ca until Thanksgiving weekend. They cost $10/each, 6 for $50 or 14 for $100.

The grand prize is a $5000 shopping spree in Downtown Guelph. Nine secondary prizes include electronics, $500 gift cards, a tool package, beer fridges and a chance to test drive an exotic car. Two early bird prizes of Apple Airpods will be drawn There will be two early bird prizes, and the “duck race” finale will be on Thanksgiving weekend.

All ticket sales will be directed back to charities in the community by the Rotary Club of Guelph-Wellington, which has organized the fundraiser for 15 years.

“Better late than never this year!” laughed organizer Richard Ritsema.

The duck races have raised more than $250,000 to support local charities.

“This has been an important fundraising project for our community, and we know that now more than ever, they will continue to need our donations.” said.
