The Rockwood’s Farmers’ Santa Claus Parade of Lights is celebrating its 27th anniversary with modern and antique farm equipment and floats dressed up for the holiday season.

The event marks its 27th anniversary this year, when Santa Claus rolls through Rockwood riding his combine on the evening of Dec. 12. — rain, snow or shine.

The event began when a group of farmers dressed up their farm equipment and drove through Rockwood 27 years ago.

This year’s parade begins at 7 p.m. on County Road 27, just north of the police station, continues on to Main Street before turning on to Alma Street. The parade route then turns on to 4th Line and ends north of the train tracks.

The route will be closed to traffic starting at 6:45 p.m.

Parking is available throughout Rockwood and on the 4th Line. Parking signs will be set up north of the train tracks.
