Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Guelph.
At 2 p.m. Friday they said that their meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, pea to dime size hail and heavy rain.
"Scattered thunderstorms are developing to the north and west of Lake Ontario. These thunderstorms will be very slow moving this afternoon and are expected to produce rain amounts of 50 mm or more in some locations. Small hail and strong wind gusts are also possible with these thunderstorms," said the warning.
