The Guelph Tool Library's Sew North initiative has reached its goal.

The charitable event that saw used sewing machines and sewing supplies is no longer accepting donations after reaching capacity.

Program organizer Stephanie Clarke said that they collected 90 sewing machines.

"Thank you, Guelph! Your generous spirit has made Sew North an overwhelming success. With that, we are at capacity for donations and we will not be accepting any more sewing machines or supplies at either drop-off location.," Clarke said in a news release.

"However, there is still much to be done with this initiative. We are looking for volunteers who can help sort, pack and weigh donations for shipping. We are also in need of people with repair experience to help clean and tune-up machines so that we are sending goods in the best working order."

Anyone looking to help can contact the Tool Library at  [email protected].

"We will have many time slots available for volunteers over the next three weeks, as well as our Fix-a-thon on May 12th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Church of St Matthias and St James the Apostle.
