On February 8, 2016 between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., the Guelph Police attended to the area of Scottsdale Drive and Ironwood Road to conduct speed enforcement in response to a community driving complaint.

Two provincial offence notices were issued to speeding drivers.

Many young children walk in this area during the week as they travel to and from school. 

Police would like to remind everyone of the reduced speed zones around all schools in the city. 

The speed limits include 40 km/h signage on arterial roads, which are in effect on school days from 8-9 a.m. and 3-4 p.m.

In addition, 30 km/h signage on collector and local roads in effect at all times.

Guelph Police will continue to do random speed enforcement at the various school zones in Guelph.

Please slow down for the kid’s sake.
