EarlyON Centres provide programmes and support services to any family or caregiver who are caring for children ages birth to six years of age. These centres have been closed for in-person programmes and have been offering virtual supports since March 2020.
“The safety of our community has been our top priority throughout this pandemic as we continue to follow the direction of the Ministry of Education and Public Health,” said Luisa Artuso, Director of the Children’s Early Years Division.
“We have been hearing about some families and children experiencing isolation. I am pleased to announce, with Ministry approval, that we will be safely re-opening limited EarlyON locations. We’ll be able to offer in-person indoor visits with an Early Childhood Educator one household at a time.”
Outdoor programmes will also be offered to a maximum of 13 participants from no more than three households.
“We are eager to see our families again!” said Lindsay Cowan, EarlyON Supervisor, Community Resource Centre. “We are looking forward to safely re-opening our EarlyON Sites to families who are ready to visit. We will continue to provide virtual support and programmes to those who are more comfortable participating from home.”
