Spring: Day one (18 photos)

A morning spin on the west side on the first day of spring

It didn’t feel much like the first day of spring, but Monday was officially the first day.

The season opened with gray skies and temperatures that were nothing to sneeze at…unless they gave you a cold in your nose. There will be more spring-like conditions on Tuesday, and then a mixed bag of weather throughout the week. Count on more gray than blue.

This photo gallery is a snapshot of a morning spin around Guelph’s west side, visiting ordinary places on a special transitional time of year. While there is little evidence yet of spring on the ground, in the branches, or in the air, this is that time of year when it can break out any day.
