A St. Louis Bar and Grill restaurant will be one of the new tenants at the commercial node at the intersection of Gordon Street and Clair Road in Guelph's South end.

The restaurant, which specializes in ribs and chicken wings, currently operates 34 locations: 32 in Ontario and two in Nova Scotia. The closest one currently to Guelph is in Waterloo.

Kim Lee, vice-president of investor relations and business intelligence for property developer Choice Properies, said the popular restaurant chain will be one of the new tenants in the plaza on the northeast corner of the intersection.

That corner currently houses an LCBO and a Zehrs grocery store, but work on several new buildings is well underway.

Other stores confirmed for that corner include Tim Hortons, First Choice hair cutting, Lena’s Nails, Pet Valu, Crabby Joes bar and restaurant, Barburrito, Firehouse Subs, Orange Theory Fitness and Freshii fast food restaurant that specializes in burritos, wraps and frozen yogurt.

"We expect all tenants to be open for business early in the new year," said Lee in an e-mail.

A Longos supermarket has already been announced for the southwest corner of that intersection, with an anticipated spring 2017 opening.
