Stolen pickup goes up in flames

Guelph police are investigating after a stolen pickup was located early Wednesday engulfed in flames.

Approximately 1:30 a.m. a 911 call was received from an employee of a business in the area of Massey Road and Elmira Road North, reporting a vehicle on fire in a neighbouring parking lot. Investigation revealed the grey GMC pickup had been reported stolen from another jurisdiction.

Surveillance video showed two pickups entering the property at 1:03 a.m. Two males with their faces covered can be seen pouring a suspected accelerant into the truck before lighting it. Both left in the second pickup which was last seen northbound on Massey Road.
