Suspended driver accused of speeding

Chevrolet locked on radar at 133 km/h in and 80 km/h zone
speeding highway

CITY OF GUELPH, ON - On June 19, 2016 at approximately 8:41 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Highway 6 south of Laird Road in the City of Guelph. 

The officer observed a male driving a 2015 Chevrolet at a speed well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 133 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

Further investigation revealed that he was also suspended from driving for a previous Highway Traffic Act offence.

His driver’s licence and motor vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

23-year-old Pierson Grasby of Stratford has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle and Drive While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. 

He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on July 20, 2016 to answer to the charges.
