Tea, scones and fascinators at Royal Wedding viewing party (6 photos)

The room erupted in a roar early in the broadcast when CBC's feed of the Royal Wedding momentarily cut out

About 40 women were up early Saturday in their best hats and fascinators to watch the Royal Wedding at Cutten Fields.

Traditional scones were among the items on the menu, served with traditional Double Devon Cream topping and a side of strawberries.

The room erupted in a roar early in the broadcast when CBC's feed of the Royal Wedding momentarily cut out, followed by laughter when it came back on seconds later.

Many in the room giggled at the stolen glances between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as well as at the antics of the young brides maids and page boys.

During the sermon, many of the ladies were amused by the expressions of the celebrity and royal wedding guests who appeared to grow bored on the big screen.

The ladies were silent as the royal couple exchanged their vows.

Everyone in the Cutten Fields ball room stood on their feet as the choir sang God Save the Queen after the vows were read during the televised service.
