Parents to get hands-on experience with UGDSB classroom technology at Digital Saturday

GUELPH - Have you ever marveled at the ease with which kids can learn and adopt new technology? The Upper Grand District School Board is inviting families to a digital open house where parents and guardians can learn more about the technologies used in our classrooms.

The popular event, Digital Saturday, is open to all parents and students in the UGDSB. It’s a chance to explore and learn about:

    •    New technologies in UGDSB schools
    •    Coding in the classroom
    •    Makerspaces
    •    Virtual reality
    •    Homework help
    •    Assistive technology to support all learners
    •    Online digital resources for assisting student learning
    •    Parent engagement strategies for home use
    •    Appropriate use of technology and digital citizenship
    •    And more!

This is the fifth time the board has hosted a Digital Saturday open house, as the last few years has seen exponential growth in the use of technological tools and resources in Upper Grand schools. Board staff will present on a number of topics, and in years past it’s often the students themselves who showcase how the technology works.

We hope to see you there as partners in education!
